So don't just reach to the back to get the freshest eggs next time you go shopping. And don't just look at the best by date. To get the freshest eggs, you want to look at the Julian date on the carton. It's a 3 digit number that correlates to a day of the year. So 001 is January 1 and 365 is December 31. Make sense?
But pro tip, older eggs are easier to peel when you boil them.
