LINK: Volunteer For FIFA World Cup

The clock is ticking until the World Cup comes to Miami, with the first of seven matches on June 15th.

Among the games at Hard Rock Stadium will be a Round of 32, a quarter-final and the bronze final match.

In order to throw one of the biggest sports parties in the world, volunteers are needed.

Miami Host Committee Co-Chair Rodney Barreto says Miami needs a lot of them, "We're looking at 6,000 volunteers. Three thousand will work directly with FIFA, and then another 3,000 will work with the Host Committee."

Some of the unpaid volunteers will be in Hard Rock Stadium, while others will work the big activation at Bayfront Park, or be a part of welcome committees at the airport and hotels.

He says past volunteers come from all kinds of backgrounds, "We have doctors. We have lawyers. We have accountants who volunteers who want to be a part of this great community event."

The application window is now open.
