Florida - Florida remains a top destination for the nation’s wealthiest individuals, offering luxury real estate, privacy, and a warm climate that attracts billionaires from across the United States.
The state is home to high-profile residents who own primary residences or vacation properties.
Florida’s history as a haven for the wealthy dates back to the 1880s, when industrialist and railroad developer Henry Flagler established hotels and infrastructure along the east coast. Today, the state continues to draw affluent individuals seeking luxury lifestyles, golf communities, and waterfront properties.
President Donald Trump’s primary residence is at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, often referred to as the “Southern White House” during his presidency. Another exclusive area, Indian Creek Village, known as “Billionaire Bunker,” has attracted numerous billionaires, including Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who owns multiple homes there.
Using Forbes’ 2025 list of U.S.-based billionaires, Hennessey Digital ranked Florida third in total billionaire population with 117, following California with 193 and New York with 140. Florida ranks fifth in billionaires per capita, behind Wyoming, New York, Nevada, and Montana. Only three states—Alaska, Delaware, and West Virginia—report no billionaire residents.
Indian Creek Village, a private island community in Biscayne Bay near Miami, is home or has been home to Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez, former NFL player Tom Brady and ex-wife Gisele Bundchen, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, singer Julio Iglesias, financier Carl Icahn, billionaire Norman Braman, Adriana Lima, and the late Dolphins coach Don Shula.
Florida’s combination of climate, exclusive neighborhoods, and high-end amenities continues to make it a leading location for billionaires.
