(Tallahassee, FL) - Two Muslim organizations are now considered Foreign Terrorist Organizations in Florida.

Governor Ron DeSantis made that declaration yesterday about the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR. He accuses Muslim Brotherhood chapters in the Middle East of joining attacks against Israel and providing support to Hamas and Hezbollah. DeSantis says CAIR's associates have been convicted of supporting other foreign terrorist organizations.

The governor says all Florida agencies are hereby directed to undertake all lawful measures to prevent unlawful activities by these organizations.

Meanwhile CAIR issued a statement accusing DeSantis of being "Israel first" and an enemy of anyone that supports Palestine saying, "We'll see you in court."

The statement continues:

"From the very moment Governor Ron DeSantis took office, he served the Israeli government instead of the people of Florida. He hosted his first official cabinet meeting in Israel. He diverted millions in Florida taxpayer dollars to the Israeli government’s bonds. He threatened to shut down every Florida college’s pro-Palestine student group, only to back off when CAIR sued him in federal court. Now he wants to smear CAIR Florida."

As of today, the U.S. government has not designated the Muslim Brotherhood or CAIR as terrorist organizations.
