WASHINGTON -- Pam Bondi is now US Attorney General.
The former Florida Attorney General and Hillsborough prosecutor got sworn in this (Wed) morning after a confirmation vote last night by the US Senate.
President Trump was there to welcome her, saying she would "take crime out of the system, as much as anyone can." Bondi added that she would "Make America Safe Again."
Bondi won confirmation by a 54-46 vote on the Senate floor last night. Pennsylvania Democrat John Fetterman joined Republicans in voting for Bondi.
The new attorney general was sworn in by Supreme Court Justice Thomas.
