Kristin Cavallari came face to face with an intruder who snuck into her family's vacation rental in the Bahamas in 2020, and to this day, has not told her children about the horrifying incident.
The Laguna Beach alum zoomed in on the scary moment in the latest episode of her podcast Let’s Be Honest with Kristin Cavallari, revealing that the intruder was actually crawling on the floor by her bed in the middle of the night.
"That night I had [my son] Cam in the bed with me. Cam and I were sleeping. And I woke up to a man crawling on my bedroom floor. I was so out of it because obviously I had just woken up. And I go, ‘What the f--- are you doing?’ And this man stands up, runs out the door, and, you guys, he had a ski mask on, full black arms, black pants, the full thing. And I went 'oh, f---.'"
Cavallari didn't scream because she didn't want to scare her son, but she did wake up her now ex husband, athlete Jay Cutler, after the stranger ran out of the room.
"Once I woke Jay up, then I got really nervous. Then I start [to get] like, really scared. I started shaking, and I was able to process then what just happened. But until that point, I was not scared. I was really calm. You just are running off of instinct."
The pair later discovered that the intruder was actually a worker coming to fix the broken HVAC in the rental who ended up taking "all of the cash that we had in a backpack."
The Uncommon James founder shares children Camden, 12, and Jaxon, 10, and daughter Saylor, 8, with Cutler, and does not plan to unveil this story to them anytime soon.
"That's just one that I think would really scare them. I will not tell them, probably, until they're adults. Because I just think some things kids do not need to know. And scary stuff like that, I will take that one."
