Lawsuit Filed Against DeSantis Over African American Studies Course

Three AP honor students serving as the lead plaintiffs in a lawsuit being filed against Governor Ron DeSantis over his ban on a proposed Advanced Placement course on African American studies. State Senator Shevrin Jones says it's wrong and hateful and he won't stand for it. DeSantis says the proposed course pushes a political agenda that modern society oppresses Black people, and he stands for education, not indoctrination. He says it violates the Stop WOKE Act, banning instruction defining people as oppressed or privileged based on race.
