Tax Filing Season Officially Starts Today

Today marks the start of tax season as the IRS begins accepting 2022 returns. Tax preparer Gina Pinto says there will be some noticeable differences with your return this year thanks to the end of pandemic benefits. Acting IRS Commissioner Doug O'Donnell says the agency has trained thousands of new employees to help customers and is makng progress on the hundreds of thousands of unprocessed returns form last tax season. If you're not ready to file don't worry, the filing deadline is April 18th. Anyone requesting an extension has until October 16th to file. The majority of refunds will be distributed no more than 21 days after the IRS has gets your return.
