Why Nick Jonas 'Gave Up' Teaching Piano To Priyanka Chopra During Lockdown

Seems like Priyanka Chopra was one of the many folks who wanted to put her downtime to good use during quarantine.

During the Monday (January 25) episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the star, 38, who appears in the new Netflix film, The White Tiger, admitted that she wanted to play the piano, but her husband Nick Jonas, 28, gave up teaching her. "I heard you were going to learn piano during quarantine. How did that go?" DeGeneres asked the star. "Oh, I did for a good two days and then I was like, 'I can’t. I'm not co-ordinated enough to do this.' It was hard,” Chopra responded with a laugh.

Ultimately, when Chopra stopped putting in the effort, Jonas followed suit. "He was the one who was trying to teach me, and then gave up when I gave up," she continued, adding, "I’m basic when it comes to playing instruments… I'm not very musical."

Back in April 2020, Chopra told Vogue that the two were passing the time together in self-isolation by encouraging each other to "sharpen our creative skills and develop projects [they] want to produce." "I've also started the piano — I make my husband teach me," the actress admitted at the time. "I’ve never played, but I’ve always wanted to learn an instrument, so I make him give me a half-hour or 45-minute lesson every day."

Weeks after the reveal, Jonas offered an update on Chopra's skills, where he said she was picking it up and "doing a very good job." However, it seems as if he was just playing nice and, as her husband, that's completely acceptable, too.
